Raine Peltokoski, Finland, is one of the best shooters in the history of practical shooting. Here you can see him with his Suomi submachine gun. Unfortunately, due to the latest European Union legislation, he can no longer keep it at home. This photo came too late for the interview TFB did with Raine, but it has such an interesting history it just has to be shared. Here is the quote from Raine:“This Suomi is functional. It is nowadays at Aawee shop as I as a private person cannot have a license for it. Behind me is a rug with Karelian armorial bearings. The rug is from my grandma. She escaped the Russian invasion in 1939 when the Winter War started. She told me how she at age 15 ran to the forest when the Russian planes were shooting at the train at the railway station during evacuation.”This is also an excellent reminder to read the full interview with Raine, where he shares his rifle setup and his insights into training and mental strength – and why he needs a Lahti
