At a very windy SHOT Show 2025 Industry Day at the Range we caught up with North Dakota-based Wraithworks. Last year we took a look at their lightweight WARP-15 with its polymer lower; this year they had the latest prototype of their CarbonMax CM-1.The CarbonMax CM-1 has been in the works for a couple of years, we first saw it back at SHOT 2023, it has a carbon receiver but maintains the use of AR-15 components including the bolt and bolt assembly. It has an adjustable butt with a cheek piece which moves along the top of the receiver. The CM-1 has ambidextrous controls and the ability to tool-lessly switch the charging handle to the left or right and uses a saddle to act on the bolt carrier. The rifle has a full-length 12 o’clock Picatinny rail, as well as a length of 6 o’clock rail and MLOK slots on the forend as well as integrated QD cups.
