POTD: British SA80A3 With SMASH Smart Weapon Sight

Photo Of The Day and we look at the SA80A3 with the SMASH Smart Weapon Sight Fire Control System aiming for a small drone. This smart sight equips dismounted soldiers with enhanced accuracy for engaging micro and mini UAVs or drones. The sight can identify, track, and lock onto moving targets, maintaining precision even if the user or target shifts position.The British Army is said to have ordered 225 pieces of this sight. For more information about it, check Smart-Shooter’s homepage.Below: “A soldier from B Company, 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, sent up a Parrot Anafi drone to be able to scan the trench system and possible enemy positions ahead during the combined arms live-fire exercise (CALFEX) phase of Exercise Swift Response on the 4th of May 2024.”
